    Adopted! Destin to Dream “Jessie”

Update!  2/7/09 – Jessie, now to be known as Dream, moved to her new home with John Read.  She will live with another greyhound named Hope.  John has already discovered what a snuggle bug Dream is, and he’s very happy with his new baby girl.  Thank you, John!  Thank you, Denise and Janet – for making sure she was easily transitioned from track life to foster to forever home.  XOXOXO

Jessie is in a foster home with Denise, who lives in Tennessee.  I just got this note from Denise to help potential adopters know if she might fit in their home:

Jessie loves to play with toys and snuggle with her people. She gets along with all her greyhound housemates, including the cats. She has learned how to sit and lay down for a treat. Her house-training is going very good, with no accidents in the house. She has learned how to go up and down stairs. She walks well on leash.

She would be good for the first time greyhound adopter, or as an addition to a multi-dog home. Jessie hasn’t been tested with children, but because she has a fun personality, she would most likely do very well with children.

Jessie is a happy easy going girl, who knows she’s adorable, and loves attention.

Please contact me at wmlcml6@gmail.com if you have any questions about sweet little Jessie.  ~Cathie~

The humans who take care of me say I’m kind of small, but what I lack in size, I make up for in character.  : )

    Adopted!! “Ghost”

Update 11/3/08 – Ghost is leaving tomorrow to move to a foster home.  If everything works out as planned, he will be permanently adopted by that family.   Good luck, Ghost!  Good things are ahead for you, buddy.

Ghost is a stunning blue boy who needs a very special home.  He has never raced.  In fact, he’s not even able to complete race training because he is scared of people and it’s too traumatic for him to be handled in a fast paced noisy setting.  He has gotten used to the people at our farm, but newcomers turn him into a shrinking violet.  We would prefer the following conditions for his future home: confident non-aggressive greyhound already in the home to help show him the ropes, fenced backyard, calm/relaxed home setting, and no children because they have a tendency to do things unexpectedly or too quickly.   If you have a huge heart, experience working with greyhounds who are easily frightened, and you have the time and patience to help him adjust to your new home, we would love to introduce you to him.   Please contact Cathie Lambert at wmlcml6@gmail.com if you are interested in learning more about Ghost, or if you would like to meet him at our farm. October087.jpg picture by GiJenn51October084.jpg picture by GiJenn51

    • I spent most of my career in Orlando.
    • “Nellie is a bit of an attention hog… pretty loud in her crate, but, once she gets fed, she quiets right down… She is Lexus and Rogue’s littermate (see their profiles on this site) … and she’s a lot like Rogue.  Not as high energy .. and not quite as confident as Rogue … I’d say just a smidge below Rogue in that regard.”
    • He forgot to mention that she’s beautiful.  Take a look!
